Slipped from the ledge carrying the cheese basket.
THEIR STORY
Corin Ash is a herald of the Ashen Court, lean and stooped, with a mask of pressed ash whose mouth is left open and a grey ledger-case on a strap. He was born in Highfold, and his hands are still calloused from carrying cheese. A grey stranger offered to write him down so he would not be forgotten, and in time he gave up his name for rank. The Court has sent him west with a copy of its Book to bring the high passes under its rule. He presses two fingers to his mask before he lies.
