HEARTHWANE · WARDEN
human, 31
Swore the Watch's oath at night at a lit stone, hand on the glass, and was given the ford post.
THEIR STORY
Rafe Penrose kept the lamp-post at Ambry Ford for the Wayward Watch, and he was good at it. When Lord Linden posted his offer, he took three nights' leave, meaning to buy a winter's oil for his post with the reward. He was the third watcher, and he did not come back up the stair. Below the hall he dances in a row with the hollowed, and he cannot say why.
FROM
the Watch's lamp post at Ambry Ford
HOW THEY LOOK
Lean, sunburnt and green-cloaked, the copper road-token of the Watch at his throat. Grey now from the eyes down, as if dust had settled on him.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS
“Is it my turn to dance? I think it is my turn.”
“There was a lamp. I kept a lamp.”
